  1. WP e-Commerce 3.8 support coming soon ?
We are all looking forward to testing the new and expected 3.8 version.

    • Hi NicoWeb, the 2.8 Plugin update will be available this afternoon, I’m doing a phased release, starting with 2.8 then rapid minor updates as I introduce new WP e-Commerce 3.8+ features. Thanks for your patience, I’m confident this update is going to put the Plugin back on the 3.8 map! 😀

      • Hi trovar, sure have! I’ve been delayed working on the Category linking feature as well as Product image import which I’m now working to sort, the 2.8.1 Plugin update will be available in the next 24/48 hours resolving these issues. 🙂

  2. WP e-Commerce Forum down?

I *never* got this to work…have high hopes for the update, so I echo previous question…when will 3.8 be ready??

    • Hi Mike, I’m in the process of restoring the Support Forum, for now drop a comment or shoot me an e-mail from the Contact page.

The WP e-Commerce 3.8+ compatibility Plugin update will be released as a private beta tomorrow with an official release this weekend, my goal for last week blurred over as other Plugin priorities took over, I’ve been busy porting changes across and throwing my all into Plugin updates lately. 🙂

      • Hi Michael,

if the beta is finished I like to try that one too. Or is the official release finished soon?
I’m waiting so long to make a mass import.

    • Hi Tracey,

The demo site is offline at the moment, I’ll be restoring it in the coming days after Plugin updates across the suite settle down 🙂

  3. Hi Michael!

I’m planning on starting an affiliate website… could I use this plugin?
The datafeeds/.CSV-files I get have an external URL (with the affiliate link) and external images. Could I upload those?

And after uploading the .CSV-file, how does the result look? I mean, the actual products 🙂

    • Hi WebshopsandWishlists, sure can, if you’re using WP e-Commerce 3.7.8 or earlier you can jump in now and have your Products and Product images – imported from your external image URL’s – set up in a snap, if you’re already on 3.8 uninstall and roll back to 3.7.8, import your categories and products then update to 3.8 🙂

If you’re not in a rush I’d recommend holding off until 3.8+ support is announced, that way there’s no chance of conflicts during the 3.7 -> 3.8 upgrade; I’m sweating code to get this next Plugin update rock solid before release.

  4. Do you think it’s possible to automate the process of uploading price and quantity data using this Product Importer Deluxe?

I plan to get a CSV file deposited via FTP to my server every hour.

How would I get that data into E-Commerce automatically? I have a feeling a CRON job would work?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    • Hi Miles, thanks for the suggestion. I plan to integrate code from one of my earlier drop-shipping store manager solutions for WP e-Commerce into Product Importer Deluxe. You’re right a CRON job function would be best, I’ll look at the best way to do this further down the line.

Right now I’m focussed on preparing the Plugin update for 3.8+ support, once this is out the door I can focus on feature enhancement. I’m releasing the Product Categories Importer update today and planning for release this weekend for Product Importer Deluxe. 🙂

  5. I would like to see how this will look after I import my info. If you could help it would be great.

    • Hi Aaron, happy to step you through it, it’s very simple to build an Excel column-based file and export as a CSV file then import it, try the sample importer then buy when you’re ready! Hope this helps 🙂

  6. Michael,

Is it possible to use category ID instead of the full category name? It would be nicer and easier to enter.

    Thanks in advance

    • Hi Daniel, will do, I’ll add a check for integers prior to processing the Category. This feature will be introduced after the initial WP e-Commerce 3.8 support. 🙂

  7. Hi Michael

    news about 3.8?
Your 3.7 Plugin is not working under WP-E-Commerce 3.8 anymore.
But we have to update a lot of Products asap.

  8. Just to inform that today : There is an Error in the premium-plugin-updates after introducing session ID.

Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /httpdocs/wp-content/themes/twentyten-something-new/functions.php on line 32

  9. Hi Michael,

I was wondering if there is a possibility to import product’s slug (URL) ?

      • Thanks Michael,

We are all looking forward to seeing the new WP e-Commerce 3.8 compatible version.

I’m actually using another ecommerce plugin and I’m waiting for your Product Importer Deluxe new version to switch to e-Commerce.

With your work, it seems that e-Commerce will be the only stable solution for huge shops (in my case a bookshop with tens of thousands of books).

I’m preparing the switch since a long time ago and I’m really looking forward to seeing the Product Importer Deluxe version for 3.8

        Kind regards

  10. Special Characters (germany) NOT WORKING!!!
    ? ? ? ? ? ? ? (ä ö ü Ä Ö Ü ß)

Please add this Characters in the Importing Process

    Whats about Variations?

    Thank You

    • Hi Stephan, I’ll be looking at special character support after 3.8 support and variations are announced which should be any day now!

      • Hi Michael

find a solution 🙂 switched my CSV File in UTF8 an it works but it will be nice to see the fix in your plugin

  11. Has the Support for Import With Variations introduced yet ?

  12. First of all, thanks for a great plugin. It’s going to be very helpful with our current project! That said, I’m having some issues with the image uploads. I have external URLs in my CSV file but when I import the file and select the external URL option for images, I get a ton of warnings and PHP errors and none of the images load.

On the individual product, when I check to see if the thumbnail image loaded at all, I see the following error saying:

Warning: getimagesize(/home/socialma/public_html/sparksmc/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/product_images/thumbnails/1299691351-images_D_Celtic-Earrings-NSNSE11264V-detailed-image.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/socialma/public_html/sparksmc/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/wpsc-admin/includes/display-items-functions.php on line 1129

Is there something I’m doing wrong or is this a problem in the plugin? I haven’t edited or changed anything. Thanks so much.

  13. I am getting this error in the test upload utility: “Insuffient data was provided. Please ensure the required product import fields are available and have been matched”.

I am quite confident that I have assigned my column headings to the SKU, Product Name, Category, and Price fields in the upload utility. Also, the second row reads correctly in the utility set up window.

Can you try this and/or advise? If so, Thanks.

    Here is my csv data:

    SKU,Local Shipping,Qty,Category,Product Name,Price
    A1,1,1,Category A,Item 1,100
    B2,1,1,Category B,Item 2,200
    C3,1,1,Category C,Item 3,300
    D4,1,1,Category D,Item 4,400

    • Hi Randy, there is an issue I’m diagnosing affecting the test site, it is not a true indication of the Plugin as it’s just a custom Page Template emulating the Plugin; the Plugin works, I’ll get the test site up again asap. 🙂

      • Good to hear the test site is broken, er… I guess! I will track you down again if I have problems with an actual upload. Thanks for the quick reply. Randy

I've purchased this product and it's working fantastically, a little slow importing/merging change, however this isn't an issue.

Please can you point me in the direction or provide information for adding additional import field, I've purchased a plugin called Product Price Info and would like to bulk import this information.

    Thanks in Advance.

Hello, iv been first using your plug in since it was first developed. I have 22 woocommerce stores with over 10,000 products a store. So i have a lot of importing to do. Once woocommerce came out with their own i started using theirs but its been no where as good as yours. With their plug in i can only import upto 50 products at a time and i keep getting duplicates that drive me annoying. I have to convert 1' 9MB excel file into 1,000 excel files. With your plug in i just keep importing the same excel file and it keeps importing without any doubles. Your picture placing is easier and i like your excel format. Its so much better than Woo's and i have so much to import. Thank you for your work and keep it coming :)
