Here's a showcase of Plugin testimonials received from the Comments section which make our day. :)

Just wanted to say that I've tried one or two other import / export plugins for WC but Product Importer Deluxe is by far the best, particularly as it also comes with a license for Store Exporter Deluxe. I've found it very simple to use. It works with minimal configuration and it's saved me a huge amount of time. I must also add that Michael has been incredibly helpful too. Recommended.

Hello, iv been first using your plug in since it was first developed. I have 22 woocommerce stores with over 10,000 products a store. So i have a lot of importing to do. Once woocommerce came out with their own i started using theirs but its been no where as good as yours. With their plug in i can only import upto 50 products at a time and i keep getting duplicates that drive me annoying. I have to convert 1' 9MB excel file into 1,000 excel files. With your plug in i just keep importing the same excel file and it keeps importing without any doubles. Your picture placing is easier and i like your excel format. Its so much better than Woo's and i have so much to import. Thank you for your work and keep it coming :)

Hi Michael, Finally purchased the importer today. Do you have a complete csv with the All in One SEO headers detailed? Also, did I read that you can import from a URL like an XML feed or is that on the wishlist, still? If it’s available, can you point me to a ‘how to’? Thanks for your hard work!

    • Sally CA Sally

      Hi Fontaholic,

Did you ever get an answer to the XML feed question? Really want to know and can’t find a specific answer anywhere. Thanks in advance!

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Sally, XML support is not supported, you will need to convert your XML file into a CSV-formatted catalogue, there are free scripts available for this. Once things settle down I may introduce this feature as another way for store owners to bring in their Products. 🙂

      • Roberto GB Roberto

        Hi Michael,

Did you receive the email I sent you the 14th of February? I have a client ready to pay form your Importer Plugin but we need make sure that this plugin will meet the client requirements.

        Please can you answer me?

        Thanks

I was able to upload csv files but not any images. Finally I was able to get 8 images (out of 750) to correspond from a load. I noticed that the instructions for WP3.8 were not the same folders that my install was accessing- it accessed 3.7 but would timeout time out.
I increased the ini file to 100MB – to no avail.
I deleted both the wp commerce and the import plug in (uninstall) then reinstalled- now csv uploads just time out and nothing works.
    Please advise.

  3. Jessy CA Jessy

Can you let me know if this plugin will be released in the next week or two? I have quite a number of products to enter in, but loves the sounds of this extension if I’d be able to use it in time to meet a deadline.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Meghan US Meghan

    Hi

I just bought this. Are there detailed instructions on how to use it? Thanks, Meghan

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

HI Meghan, please get in contact to organise either a Plugin refund or early release to support Jigoshop 1.1 as this Plugin has been shelfed until 1.1 supported is finalised. 🙂

  5. Pearl US Pearl

Hi, Michael, I am just checking with you. Now Jigoshop has a new version 1.1 and I am using Sommerce theme 2.0. It is connected to WooCommerce. Can I still use Product Importer Deluxe when it is coming out?

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Pearl, I’ll be officially releasing this Plugin over on Jigoshop’s Extension site and am finalising support for 1.1 before release. I’m not sure of the details of your setup, so you’re using WooCommerce or Jigoshop or both? Feel free to e-mail me directly to look into this with you. 🙂

Has anyone else had a problem when merging products that it get’s rid of the sales price. The sales price still appears in the admin area, but when viewing the product on the site it no longer shows the sales price.

Also, with the merging … will it add new products if it comes across some that are new to the system?

  7. Mike GB Mike

    Hi,
I wonder if you can answer a quick question from a wordpress novice in the UK please? I’m looking at Product Importer Deluxe to handle the upload of my range of 7,500 lease car products to a wordpress shop.

If I use custom fields to document the various properties of the cars (eg transmission type, fuel type, number of doors, model, engine etc) and use Product Importer Deluxe to upload the data to the site, is there a way for users to filter according to the custom fields to reduce the 7,500 cars down to a more manageable selection for them to browse please?

Or is there an entirely different and better way to do it?

Thanks in advance for your help.
    Mike

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Mike, great suggestion. To filter based on Product details you would need to use Categories and/or Tags, unfortunately Custom Fields has not been built to handle filtering though I may add this further down the line. I recommend speaking to your developer as well as the Core WP e-Commerce team to brainstorm ways to implement this with WP e-Commerce.

    • forhuntersbyhunters US Forhuntersbyhunters

Let me know how well it works with 7500 products. I couldnt get more than 300 to load and most of them were all screwed up.

  8. Adam US Adam

    Hi Michael,

The importer is working great on everything except images. I followed the import instructions (FTP for 3.8). File names were included in the csv file and no luck. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    • Isabella AU Isabella

      Hi Adam,

I’m guessing Michael’s away. I hope I’m not speaking out of turn, I’m just an amateur and obviously this is not my blog, but I may be able to help you show your images in the meantime. I also had some difficulty, but eventually got mine to show.

      1. Make sure your pics are optimised.

      2. You might need to double check your csv is saved in Windows CSV format.

      3. Upload your images via FTP BEFORE you do an import.

      4. Do your image names have the right extension in the csv? Any typos in the column name or does it match?

      5. Check your images are in this folder:
      http://yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/pic.jpg

otherwise, hell just for fun, try putting them in this one too:
      /wp-content/uploads/wpsc/product_images/

      6. make sure after the first step when you press the blue ‘upload file and import’ button, you select ‘Image’ in the ‘first row’ column to match ‘Image’ in the drop down box in the ‘CSV -> WP e-Commerce’ column.

      7. Under import options, tick ‘Are you importing images’ and tick ‘Assigned an image column above for Product image filenames in the CSV file’

I also found that if I DON’T tick any option, just the ‘Are you importing images’ box, it also displays the pictures. That might work for you too.

      Good luck.
Sorry if this is not very helpful.
      Cheers,
      Isabella

      • Paul Cutcliffe GB Paul Cutcliffe

        Thanks Isabella for your suggestions.

I also had problems with this, & I was actually trying to build two sites that used the same product images (Trade & Retail). What I did was to select the option “Assigned an external URL column for Products in the CSV file”, but simply uploaded them to somewhere in my site – that way the second site could use the same URLs, as they are fully qualified (i.e. http://host.domain.com/wp-content/uploads/productimages). That way I got both sites working with the same images, & in fact it was the only way I could get either site to work with the images.

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Adam, if you’re manually uploading the Product images it’s likely the importer is unable to detect those files. Can you confirm which Media indexing method you’re using (month-based or all in Uploads) as set under Settings > Media, I explain within the Usage document for the month-based setup, if you’re using the other you just need to upload all Product images to /wp-content/uploads/…

      • Isabella AU Isabella

        HI Michael,

Can you please suggest a solution to my problem, or when I might get a response, or where I may be able to go to get one, if this is something that is out of your scope. Thanks again for your help. I really do appreciate you’re a busy person, but I have tried to get support since December with no direct response after posting five messages, and trying to contact you through paid support to no avail. Being subscribed to the entry, I receive messages when you respond to others, so I feel quite disappointed that you can’t respond to mine. I’d appreciate a reply as I’m struggling with your plugin. The issue seems so close to being fixed, it’s quite frustrating.

Thanks again, I eagerly await your response,
        Isabella.

  9. Isabella AU Isabella

    Hi there,

I am wondering if anyone out there knows how to get the related products csv import to work with images?

When I import a csv with related products listed and import images by uploading them via FTP and selecting the option for image names in a csv column, the load time for each page becomes three minutes!

Also the link from grid view ceases to work.

This is definitely a related products/ images/ import issue, as when I try importing the same csv but without images, the load time for products is fine and the links from grid view work.

Please can you help as soon as possible. I am sssssooooo close to finally having this site finished. 🙂

    Thanks for your help.

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Isabella, I’ve been able to reproduce the broken image when importing Related Products fields but am yet to identify the cause. Will have this sorted shortly in the 3.0.8 release which fixes the memory leak and timeout’s some users are experiencing.

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Isabella, please update to 3.0.8, I’ve added in a set of checks which I hope will sort this for you. I did the same import as you so it’s my best shot at it.

Hi, Michael, do you know there is a newly updated Jigoshop version 0.1? Will this plugin be compatible with the new version of Jigoshop?

    • Pearl US Pearl

      Sorry, I meant version 1.0.

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Pearl, expect a release shortly. I’m working directly with the Jigoshop team. 🙂

  12. ISabella AU ISabella

    Hi Michael,
On December 21, 2011 you mention that the 3.0.6 Plugin update due in the next few days will use the Product’s SKU to link the Related Products. For instance:

    EOE001|EOE002|EOE003

I am just wondering if this has been incorporated in the latest release, as I can’t see it in the notes?
Just a simple indication wither way would be greatly appreciated, please. 🙂
I just don’t want to erase everything, do a plugin update and reimport if this won’t work.
Sorry to be a nag, but it’s been about 6 weeks now, and my client is starting to get itchy.
Is this functionality in the 3.0.6 Plugin update?
    Thanks,
    Isabella.

    Hi Michael,

Were you ever able to integrate the ability to mass import a wholesale price for each individual product when using your wholesale plugin as well?

    Thanks,
    Anthony

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Anthony, you sure can. I’ll update the sample CSV and send it up for you to download. Just set aside a column for each User Role then link it at import time from the dropdowns if it doesn’t do so automatically. 🙂

I would love to have a mass import option for jigoshop. Let me know when it’s available.

Hi Sarah, Product Importer Deluxe is ready for the Jigoshop community. Should be appearing any day now over on the Jigoshop site!

Do you have a sample master products CSV file for Product Importer Deluxe?

Sure do, sample import files are available from the Product Importer Deluxe > Usage page.

Sure can, just put a '|' (vertical pipe) character between each item, currently all of the above are supported. In a near future Plugin update multiple file downloads will also be included.

Roger that, when declaring a child Category ensure you use place an '>' (arrow) character between the parent and child. With the release of 2.6.5 you can drill down up to 3 levels deep, for instance:
