Details

This solution allows store owners to process sales immediately where a customer prefers to call in/mail order and gets around the inconvenience of creating a new customer order through the Checkout page.

Order and customer details are collected on the Store > Add Order page within the WordPress Administrator and is stored alongside standard online orders appearing in the Store > Sales page and dashboard widgets.

Plugin Integration

Manual Ordering integrates with Offline Credit Card Processing allowing store owners to create new Sales through the WordPress Administration and attach credit card details to the Sale there and then.

Manual Ordering now also integrates with the Members Access Plugin from GetShopped.org allowing store owners to process site memberships without leaving the WordPress Administration.

WP e-Commerce Compatibility

  • WP e-Commerce 3.7 ready (up to 3.7.8)
  • WP e-Commerce 3.8 ready (up to 3.13.*)

    Hi Michael,
My client is looking for a solution for a physical retail store that supplements their online store. This plugin looks like it might be the solution, but we need to be able to handle cash payments and to bypass shipping. Can this plugin do that?

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Ed, sure can 🙂 Without giving too much away this Plugin will be merging closer and closer into the POS space through a dedicated addon for Manual Ordering with touch-screen friendly layouts and deeper WP e-Commerce integration.

As it stands right now you can select stock, quantities, set the total payment amount and save the Sale. Give it a go, get in touch if you need some changes 🙂

        Michael,

Is altering date of sale possible? If not could it be implemented easily enough?

        • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Luke, sure is, it’s currently a timetstamp field but I’ll add some pretty dropdowns and input fields in the next Plugin update. 🙂

we will be needing the same pos style front end for cash sales in store. iPad is the touch device of choice for us. Are you any closer to a formal release. we are excited to do it all!

      • Scott sULLIVAN US Scott sULLIVAN

I am very keen to adopt a POS add-on like you describe here with touch screen interface, stock sharing with online and offline store etc.

Do you have a timescale, I would like to go live in Jan 2012 at the latest.

        Many Thanks

        S
P.S If you could model your solution on VEND POS that would be awesome

Hi Scott, if you can send screenshots it’ll surely help! 🙂

Hi Michael, Any Update for a timeline Vend website http://www.vendhq.com it seams like a very good POS system but it doesn’t link with WP Commerce. Look forward to hearing from you. BR Scott

    Hi Michael.

The plugin with regards to member subscription order seems to be broken. There are a few issues.

Doesnt add users to actual members listing.

If you add say 3 subscription products in an order only the last in that list get added to the users subscription widget.

If you add an order after the fact it replaces whats in the users widget.

Because the plugin is not actually registering with the Members plugin then Subscription protected content doesnt appear on that protected content.

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi seth, I’m going to need to revisit how member subscriptions support works, I’ll be looking at this today if not tomorrow 🙂

      • sethrubenstein US Sethrubenstein

Awesome. Thanks for getting in touch. Would you mind keeping me up to date? I’ve got a project thats 99% ready to go just waiting on bug fixes here to proceed.

        Thanks

    Hello Michael,

What I’m really missing is a posibility to order product variations.
We have boiught the plugin but it only shows the main products which in our case have no default price since only the variations can be ordered online.

It would be nice if the main product name could become a dropdown in the case of product variations because at the moment the plugin is useless to us.
I’m sure I could add extra products for the manual ordering and not show them in the online shop but adding them twice seems to be the wrong way of going about this.

Can you indicate if you are adding this kind of functionality in the future, and if so what the timeline would be?

It is a good plugin otherwise which is to the point and does what it needs to do.

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi DHvV Interactive Lab, as I just responded on Andrew’s comment variation support will be factored in as part of the jQuery-powered Plugin update. I’ll be spinning up this Plugin for update over the next week. 🙂

      • Joshua US Joshua

Is there any update on the status of this? We are in the same situation, and after buying the plugin found that we are unable to use it because of this.

        Thanks!

  4. Andrew AU Andrew

    Hi Michael,
Just wondering if you’ve thought of adding a category drop down box and then display the products of the category chosen for the manual ordering as having to scroll through a few 100 product is a tad slow.
    Cheer,
    D

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Andrew, looking to add jQuery support in the next major Plugin update 🙂

  5. Thomas Neppelenbroek NL Thomas Neppelenbroek

    Hi Michael,

First of all, great plugins! My client (see url i filled in) wants a posibility to keep his stock from the ‘real store’ in sync with his stock of the webstore. They have a pc with internet connection in the store so i was wondering if there is a way to fill in a simple form within the adminpanel when a sale is made fromout the real store so that the stock of an item is immediatly changed. Maybe even with the possiblity to print an invoice afterwards. I hope u kinda understand what i mean. I think when u will make a plugin for this situation you can help ‘A LOT’ of shopowners.

So in summary: Shopowner is logged in on pc in realstore. Customer comes in and buys a product. Product is searched trough name/SKU on pc in wp-admin. 1 click on the button and the item(s) are deducted from the stock and the invoice is set ready to print. The possibilty to setup a custom invoice in html would be nice for that matter..

    Thnx for a response

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Thomas, thanks for the suggestion! I’ve drooled over that idea aswell.

This is one of the directions Manual Ordering is heading with a simple jQuery-powered Point of Sale interface for store owners, at this point it’s a while out and will likely be an optional upgrade for Manual Ordering but it’s definitely on paper and will fit into the Plugin’s capabilities.

The Core Plugin of Manual Ordering is really designed for collecting customer details and storing them against Sales, a Point of Sale would require support for anonymous Sales and a method of managing them separate to standard Sales. I’m thinking about it 😉

  6. Adam US Adam

Hi! I’m hoping the answer to this is yes…because I’ve looked all over and can’t find anyone else with this functionality. Would this plugin allow my to have a person order a product, then send them an invoice, and then have them come log back in and pay later? I know this sounds a little funny, but we need to do it this way for our business. Any way to make this happen?

    Thanks!

    • Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi Adam, with Manual Ordering you have the first 2 processes in place allowing you to generate a Sales order within the WordPress Administration and then send an Purchase Receipt to them, it does not however allow customers to pay as it assumes the payment has been made in-store or via mail order, EFT, etc.

The Plugin could be customised to include a PayPal payment request but this would be custom work and I’m at capacity for new work for a few weeks while updating all Plugins to support WP e-Commerce 3.8. Raise it with me if you’re interested.

      • Adam US Adam

        Hey Michael,

What do you think this would cost and when could you get to it? Would it be possible for the system to create a PayPal invoice instead of just a request (better tracking and info)? Thanks!

        Adam

    • Bonnie US Bonnie

Are there any plans to add this functionality in the future? And if so, when? I’m interested in creating an invoice for a customer and allowing them to pay be credit card.

      Thanks!

Hello Mike, Im interested in knowing if this plugin will allow store owners the ability to add orders to members accounts.
Example being: Customer has an order history stored on the site and I want to add a hand payment made in person to their purchase history.

If so Im buy this plugin ASAP.

    thanks in advanced

Hi Alyssa, while I’d appreciate you supporting my work by purchasing an individual license for each site there is no restriction on the number of sites you can use my Plugins. I prefer a non-API key model as it allows customers and Plugin developers to use and regularly improve my work.

    Hi Michael,

Can you configure each variation to use ONLY the manual processing option, if you already take payments for other products on your shopping cart?

I have a need to be able to sell some products through paypal but some variations require the customer to undergo a verification process before being able to purchase.

Wondering if this will do what I want?

  12. Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi tarambana, that makes sense. In your position I’d populate your WP e-Commerce store with Products and options/variations.

Use the manual payment payment option, this will set the collect the Checkout details and set the Sale to Order Received. Once you have the Sale you can confirm with the workshop then invoice the customer, you could alter my Printable Invoices Plugin for WP e-Commerce to generate an invoice which can then be paid by the customer, once this is done update the Sale status to Payment Received and finally Order Dispatched. Hope this helps.

    Hi,
We are a small manufacturer and want to run a WP based ecommerce website.
We have a extensive catalogue of small metal patrs for precission and music instruments.
Our problem is that we need to check for availabalibility at our workshop before accepting an order and payment.
We need to set up a shopping cart that allows the following secuence:
Customer selects the parts and ammounts needed from a catalogue,
procedds to check out to confirm order details,
    sends order,
upond check up at workshop the order may be:
    — accepted if the parts are available or can be made on short notice, then is payment taken and goods dispatch
    or
    — answer with an estimated time for parts availability, then let decide customer to pursue with order, modify or order later in time

(It is difficult for our business to keep a stock control up to date on the website and fabrication on demand is un-economical).

Can we configure your software to operate like this?

    Many thanks

  14. Michael Visser au Michael Visser

Hi v, I’ve explored this option on one of my test sites but postponed development until other Premium Plugins of mine mature; like Product Importer Deluxe and Related Products.

Manual Ordering allows store owners to ‘create’ orders through the WordPress Administration; it does not allow you to edit existing Sales. I will look at this functionality once we’re in WP e-Commerce 3.8 land.

  15. v AU V

    Hi

Does this plug-in allow editing of orders?
