Product Description

Details

Product Enquiry adds a contact form to the Product detail page within WP e-Commerce enabling prospective customers to connect with the store owner for further information before buying.

This Plugin is also ideal for ‘brochure’ sites – stores that do not want to offer shopping cart functionality within their WP e-Commerce store – preferring customers contact the store directly to purchase Products. With this solution customers can contact you directly from the Product page instead of through your Contact page.

WP e-Commerce Compatibility

  • WP e-Commerce 3.7 ready (up to 3.7.8)
  • WP e-Commerce 3.8 ready (up to 3.11.*)

The latest release can be downloaded from your My Account page.

Comments

  1. Hi my friend, I need to add a warning message or delivery confirmation please.

  2. With WP Commerce, WordPress and the latest updated release of this plug in, I am not able to see recaptcha on the front end and I am not able to remove it on the back end. It defaults to checked even if I uncheck it. What are my options to get it to work?

  3. If I click “send” without completing any field, the form does not alert the user to have to complete the information.

  4. hey Michael,
How can i add a new field to the form ?
I need a phone # field to call the users

    • Hi Mihai, the current release of Product Enquiry only supports those fields. I’ve added to my todo list to add custom fields (e.g. Phone number, etc.) and will release a minor Plugin update to address this.

      • Hey Michael,
Do you have any idea when can you release that ? Need some extra fields badly.
Also when on the Enquiries page under Products, and you click on an enquiry it doesent show it, it loads another page with just the return button

      • Hi Michael, I have the same need. The posibility to ad more fields.

  5. Hi,

I’m currently trying to set up a site where an un-registered visitor would see the ‘product enquiry’ facility, while a logged-in visitor would be able to view the price of the product…

Without having purchased this plugin yet, do you think that this would be possible using this plugin?

    Hope you can assist.

    • Hi Kense, definitely. Just wrap the template tag for Product Enquiry around an ‘if( !is_user_logged_in() )’ loop. You’ll need to find a tutorial for this as it does require FTP and editing a WP e-Commerce template file but it’s very simple only two lines need to be edited in your wpsc-single_product.php template. 🙂

  6. Just purchased this plugin – exactly what I needed for a client’s site. Works perfectly! Quick question, I’d like to add an ‘enquire about this product’ link to sit under each item on my products page. Which files would I need to edit to do this? Cheers for any help.

    • Hi Geri, I’ve added this to my immediate todo list, I’ll add an option to the Settings page to toggle the display of a link on the Products Page. Could be handy for other store owners. Will get this into the next Plugin update. 🙂

      • thanks Michael, be really useful – I’ll keep an eye out for it.

  7. Very difficult to judge whether this is what I would want from your screenshots. Do you have a demo version of your plugin available?

    • Hi Alan, agreed and I built the Plugin! I’m setting up some test sites to show off exactly this, get in touch if you’re interested in a demo. 🙂

      • Hi Michael. I would really love to see a demo of this. Can you please point me in the right direction as I really need to get this sorted for a client. I’ve also contacted you via your email on your visser.com.au website. Many thanks.

        • Hi Alan, I’ve sent some details your way. Can’t wait to set up some testing sites to really show what store owners are already doing with these Plugins! 🙂

  8. Can I add an additional field to store the customers phone & mobile number? I usually respond to enquirers by calling them.

  9. Hello,
I was hoping that I may be able to set product enquiry off by default?
I am setting up a jewellery site and the client wants customers to contact them in some instances for a current price (due to gold and whatnot changing so much)

This also lead me to wonder if there is a way, if the price is $0.00 in WPEC, I want the customer to contact the shop via the form and the price not to appear at all as I don’t want customers going through buying things for nothing 🙂 and I can’t put in a current price or disable the price altogether?

Maybe next version a tick box next to the price in the admin that says, contact store for current price?

I would love to know your thoughts.
    Thankyou
    Michael

  10. Hey Michael,

Great work on this plugin! I just bought it then and it’s working great. There was one small bug though. In product-enquiry.php php on line 357 you’ve got the variable name as $position_product instead of $product_position so the selected state of the Position option isn’t reflected in the options. The options update fine and everything though.

    Thanks again for the plugin!

P.S. Not sure if you know about WordCamp Gold Coast 2011 but you should come along…we’d love you to talk there too if you’re up for it. Details are at: http://2011.goldcoast.wordcamp.org/ 🙂

    • Hi Bronson, thanks for the heads up. I’ve fixed that and am just adding Michael’s feature suggestion, should have an update out today or tomorrow.

I’ve just sent in my form for helping out at the Happiness Bar, I’ll throw in a speaker form too. 😉

      • Does this now allow for per product management? I need some products to say Enquire – and other’s to say Add to Cart. Is this the solution for me?

  11. I also can’t get it to show in my theme. I am using Thesis 1.8. Any ideas? It used to work on a different version of my site that was before I went to the latest WordPress and WPEC installation. Thanks for your help, Michael. 🙂

    • Hi Isalbella, I’ve been able to reproduce this issue. Seems 3.8.5 has changed the results from the wp_query object query. I’ll modify the Plugin to detect and display differently for versions going forward.

  12. Hey Michael,

I can not get the inquiry box to show up on my products page. Any ideas? The plugin is installed and has been activated. I’m using the Mazine theme with WordPress 3.1.

    • Hi rvbsanjose, thanks for your patience. I’ve released a new Plugin update that resolves the ‘dissapearing’ Product Enquiry form, recent update of WP e-Commerce have changed the way I could detect the Single Product page; this is now sorted 🙂
