Custom Fields for WP e-Commerce allows store owners to manage additional Product detail fields with the ease WordPress users have come used to through standard field controls displayed on the Add/Edit Products page in both WP e-Commerce 3.8+ and legacy 3.7 stores.

The recent release of Custom Fields 1.1 includes support for text boxes in conjunction to standard input fields, this enhancement makes it possible for store owners to add additional content blocks to the Product detail page.

WP e-Commerce Compatibility

  • WP e-Commerce 3.7 ready (up to 3.7.8)
  • WP e-Commerce 3.8 ready (up to 3.8.14.*)

  2. I think I am being really stupid here but I cant see any generated snippet, I just want to add a varying amount of different blank text boxes to a product as it will be a tailor made labeling service, Just need between 1 and 3 empty text boxes, I have created a Input box in “attributes” and on the product edit page I can see the “Custom fields” section and the blank input box but I cant add it to the product, what do I need to do? I don’t know if Its because im blatantly missing something here or if its version issues etc.

    • Hi GNight, please see Simple Product Options for WP e-Commerce. Custom Fields is used by store owners to display/manage additional Product details from the WordPress Administration, not to accept details from customers at the storefront.

  3. When I installed the plugin showing this error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpsc_cf_check_options_exist() in /home/thelandh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce-custom-fields/includes/update.php on line 4

  4. Hi – My website would be using this item to list items like
    - Number of Bedrooms
    - Number of Bathrooms
    - Square Footage

Is there a way to display a search function?
For example – I would like my end users to be able to isolate all products that have 5 bedrooms?

Thanks.. its looking like it might help me out!

  5. Hi, I’m using your WP e-commerce custom fields plugin and I would like to include the values for the custom fields for each project in a JSON array so I can control it’s output. Is there anyway to achieve this?

    Best regards,
    Chris

    • By project I meant product sorry. Basically I’m using AJAX to return a JSON array containing all the data for a particular product (price, title, etc) and I want to include the custom fields in that array. I’m not able to do that at the moment because the function wpsc_the_custom_fields returns them in a table or list.

  6. Hi,

I’m trying to use this plugin to create a featured image for products so I can display a different image on the product page only.

set up as follows but not getting it to work.

I created a “Featured Image” input field with “/images/image.jpg” as the value

    added to the product page:

    $slika = ”;

can anyone help me with this.

    • Hi Oudin, here’s what you’ll need to add to your Product Page (wpsc-products_page.php) template. Change ‘featured_image’ to the slug of your Custom Field.

      < ?php if( function_exists( 'wpsc_the_custom_fields' ) ) { ?>
      <img src="<?php wpsc_the_custom_fields( 'slug=featured_image' ); ?/>" alt="" />
      < ?php } ?>
