My Sony Ericsson P1i will not power on, ideas?

My Sony Ericsson P1i will not power on, ideas? Symptoms are:
- My P1i will not power up
- It vibrates but the screen does not light up
- The keyboard backlight flashes
- Charging the unit doesn’t help
Answer
As this could be numerous issues, start eliminating possible factors.
Not charging
- Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, insert battery and press Power
- Check the contacts on your Sony Ericsson P1i charger for broken/bent pins
Not powering up
- Ensure the Sony Ericsson P1i is fully charged, using your standard charger
- Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, insert battery and press Power
- Remove the battery, wait 10 minutes, place on charger (without battery), press Power
- Hard reset by pressing reset button underneath Sony Ericsson P1i
Water damage
- Ensure the unit is dry as moisture will damage the Sony Ericsson P1i
- Contact Warranty Support for repairs
Severe hardware/software crash
- Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, insert battery and press Power
- Remove the battery, wait 10 minutes, place on charger (without battery), press Power
- Hard reset by pressing reset button underneath Sony Ericsson P1i

Hi Panos, it’s been some time since I have owned my P1(I kind of went swimming with it you see…) but the reset button (looks like a dot) is at the bottom of the device near the audio or power holes. Prick it with a needle or sharp Phillips screwdriver.
