Using version 4 of the migrecover, I too experience the problem where all files were recovered, but were recovered just as individual files numbered 1,2,...thousands without extensions or directory structure.
My SaveData.mig was created in Vista 32-bit and I was trying to extract to a 64-bit Windows 7 Machine.
Then I downloaded version 3 of migrecover from the archive link at the top of this page and ran the procedure again. I was observing the directory in which the files were being extracted and was disappointed to see them being recreated just like the first time - sequentially numbered files with no extensions or directory structure. However, at the end of the process another message appeared in the DOS box saying something like "recovering file names" and in just a moment the recover directory changed and was full of directories and the original files along with proper file names and extensions!!!
So, if version 4 doesn't work for you, try Version 3 of migrecover.

Thanks, this tool is a lifesaver!

I guess this is the "three screens and a cloud" vision becoming a reality. This is why I think its shortsighted for some developers to grumble that their WM 6.x applications are now incompatible with windows phone 7 OS. Think about all the new opportunities of developing new applications that will work seamlessly across devices with minor just coding changes. This will be a killer platform for developers whose games and applications can take advantage of these new capabilities.
