Working Logitech Live! Webcam and Windows Vista Support

Logitech Live! webcam
I was given a dated Logitech Live! webcam from a friend who had no use for it anymore and went about making the webcam work with Windows Vista: Ultimate, after much research I have a working Logitech Live! webcam that is fully supported by all flavours of Windows Vista!
The biggest obstacle in getting Windows Vista to support the Logitech Live! webcam is to install the correct software drivers as Windows Vista does not support this device out-of-the-box and Logitech have no plans for developing native Windows Vista drivers for this dated device. I am hosting these Windows XP drivers (which work with Windows Vista!) in the hope that others don’t have to go through the suffering I did in sourcing them! At one point I almost gave in and paid for this driver installer from a driver resource site without any guarantee it would work!
- Download the Logitech Live! webcam drivers for Windows Vista (hosted on my site)
- Ensure the Logitech Live! webcam is not connected to the machine, disconnect it otherwise!
- Run the software installer you just downloaded
- After waiting several minutes the installation will not progress any further, it won’t “freeze†but it will be obvious no-one is home, at this point you can close the installer
- Restart your computer
- After logging in and ensuring all start-up processes are complete then plug in the Logitech Live! webcam and follow any on-screen prompts
You now have a working Logitech Live! webcam with Windows Vista, you can now open MSN Messenger and set up webcam support or as I did, configure my home video security system! Post your results in the Comments section below.

I would love to try this, but can’t find the software on your site. Could you post a link?
Hi Jarno,
Fixed: My Internet connection had been capped (5kb/s!) so it took forever to transfer files! I have made the Logitech Live! webcam drivers for Windows Vista available now, check the link in the post!
I made a pretty download icon as part of my CSS filetype class library (check it out above), it’ll be available for download soon!
