Planet Three Sony Ericsson Xperia Panel

Three have without so much as a whisper released a Planet Three Panel for the Sony Ericsson Xperia! Woot!
I have spent hours hunting what I thought was a simple task, the default Planet Three browser Home page for the Xperia… turns out Three have been ahead of me all along!
Here’s the bad news, it’s basic. Unlike the Planet Three web page content is not dynamic, so nothing changes on the panel, ever. I’m spamming Three to get working on some features to bring it up to par with Planet Three online but everything takes time. I’ll host the CAB file for Three customers shortly.
Update: Download the Planet Three Panel files, please note that this is not the CAB. I am in the process of building my own CAB for distribution. Please be patient as I learn how Panels work.

Any new on posting the .CAB
I hard reset mine, and lost it.
I too wouldn’t mind the 3 panel. Having used the SEUS to ugrade my ROM I lost the 3 panel. An email to 3 got me a reply that I needed to call them. 30 minutes on the phone to 3 and they have no idea and gave me the SE phone number, SE said it’s a 3 app and 3 added it as they only ship with the generic ROM (as I had already presumed).
Found this blog via google. If you email it to me I can host it for you here >> wotid.com/xperia
I’ve flashed my Xperia to SEX1 WinMo 6.5 so even if I took my phone into a 3 Service Center and asked them to put the original 3 stock ROM on they’d run away, trust me I tried and now my account indicates I ‘tampered’ with the software… no shit, it’s not like I’m running a ghost SIM or anything though! I’m going to kick up a shit with 3 next week and get the CAB and any other 3 files for you guys, stay tuned.
Thanks Michael.
When a get another 1/2 hour to spare I’ll try via phone again. So 3 sell a customisable phone, crack it when you customise it and know nothing about their own cutomisation.
I’ve subscribed to this post and look forward to any developments you make.
I’ve send an email to 3 requesting the CAB, will continue hassling them until we get it!
So Three are yet to get back to me… based on my last few experiences I’ve given up on them.
I have fortunately bumped into another Three Xperia user and extracted the Planet Three Panel files from his device, I’ve tried moving the directory to my non-branded Xperia but the Panel won’t show up, I think I might need some registry keys in the Panel Manager to set it up. Will keep you posted, going to play with Registry Editor tonight or rebuild my own CAB.
I’ll upload the files I have now so you can give it your best shot aswell, if you’re an Xperia professional please help! Cheers
I emailed Three again that same day and haven’t heard back yet, doubt I will either. I found this the other day http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/1195713.html and tried it and it worked ok.
Installed the CAB then copied the images like they mentioned and it seems to work. It’s a bit clunky as not every press on an icon works 1st time or every time. Not sure why that is, but it does show up in the panel manager and displays ok. Let me know if there is a bandwidth problem on the poster’s Geocities site and I’ll upload the files and host them.
I put the files in a zip file and uploaded them anyway >> http://www.wotid.com/xperia/panels/three_launcher_from_whirlpool.zip Good luck. It would be nice ot have a single CAB to install the lot.
Cheers for that Steve, I’ll continue messing with the CAB tonight to get a one-press setup. I couldn’t get that ZIP to work on Windows Mobile 6.5, I probably did something wrong though, will try again tonight…
That’s no good. It installed on mine but I’m running a stock OEM ROM & WM6.1
Thanks guys I did an update and it wiped the 3 panel, installed the .cab file and unzipped the images to the folder no problems.
Do you know if there is a way to have the links open in the Opera browser rather than IE?
