No Plans for Windows Mobile 6.5 on Xperia X1
Straight from Sony Ericsson’s Contact Center for Australia:
Unfortunately there are no plans to release Windows Mobile 6.5 for the Xperia X1 at this stage. However the X2 is planned to be released in Q1 (quarter1) of 2010 with WM 6.5 pre-loaded.
You know you’ve gone and got the wrong phone when you have to null your warranty just to run the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 – that works fine by the way… – on your stunner Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, I’m keeping my eye out for Android on the X3… Sony Ericsson, join the team and release an official 6.5 upgrade.
Don’t expect me to buy another SE hi end device, it’s just insane that SE won’t let X1 owners upgrade to 6.5. Come on ! i’m prepared to pay for a couple of bucks to upgrade but I’m not stupid to buy an X2 or X3. Maybe I’ll switch to iPhone?
