Hard Resetting the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
If you’ve corrupted your stock Xperia ROM and want to recover or have installed a custom ROM and the publisher requires that you hard reset your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 prior to using it here is how you do it…
- Turn off your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
- Remove the battery and replace it back in
- Press and hold down the left and right silver buttons just under the screen
- With the stylus, press in the hole on the right side of the battery
- After 10 seconds, you will be prompted to press the R key on your slide-out keyboard
- If successful press the Space key on your slide-out keyboard to finalise changes
May be this depends on the ROM but this worked for me:
Turn off the phone and While holding left and right buttons, press the power button and release.
Keep the left and right buttons pressed until you see the instructions.
